Doug has had a varied career, with over 35 years of art-related enterprise with credits and awards for his work involving both commercial and fine art.

Graduated from the Ontario College of Art (Toronto), then began 16 years as an illustrator in Toronto, serving most of the major ad agencies, art studios and publishers in that area.

Moving to B.C. and a drastic change of life-style required  a broader range of activity, still within the area of art and design. Since 1978 he has taught many drawing and painting workshops for art groups and community colleges.
